Another one from the ProgrammableWeb file: The Proceedings of the Old Bailey, 1674-1913, describes itself as a “fully searchable edition of the largest body of texts detailing the lives of non-elite people ever published, containing 197,745 criminal trials held at London’s central criminal court.” Researchers processed court proceedings for almost 250 years and posted them online for search-based access. You can read testimony, examination and cross-examination of witnesses, commentary from the bench, and the final dispositions of the cases. How damn cool is that???
