Learning Linked Data project
I deferred graduation in spring 2012 when I was offered a position as Research Assistant to an IMLS-funded project, Learning Linked Data, to establish a platform of instructional resources for teaching and learning the concepts and technologies underlying the Semantic Web. At the invitation of project principle investigator Michael Crandall, I participated in a workshop in February 2012 to scope and define the project, along with representatives of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (Stuart Sutton, Tom Baker, and Diane Hillmann), prominent library software developers, educators, and consultants. The subsequent RA role involved me in posting and monitoring comments on results of the February workshop, compiling expert commentary and developing a project report, and drafting a proposal to IMLS for a follow-on implementation grant based on the results of the planning project.
As part of those activities, I am included in a proposed panel at the ALISE conference in Seattle during January 2013.

The project continued with the IMLS grant-funded implementation as the Linked Data for Professional Educators (LD4PE) project.
